Packaging design, visual identity, strategic communication

2023
.
Brief:
Based on the results of the written dissertation (if curiosity hits you, you can read it here), a new Swedish tofu- and tempeh brand shall be packaged and designed. Drawing inspiration from Asian cuisine and combining it with the Swedish ingredient Sötlupin (latin: Lupinus angustifolius), the solution aims to increase competitiveness and elevate the local market through Swedish production. The solution should also make it easier for consumers to make a sustainable choice and create an opening in the market for tofu and tempeh all based in Sweden - from the production of ingredients to the production of the actual product.

About Sörböna
Traditional tofu and tempeh are made from soybeans, a legume that cannot be grown in the Swedish climate. However, there is an alternative to soybeans: sweet lupin. Sörböna is the new Swedish brand that combines Asian cuisine with the Swedish ingredient sweet lupin - a legume with the potential to be grown in Sweden, from Skåne in the south to Umeå in the north. At Sörböna, there's a vision to create an opening to be able to produce Swedish tofu and tempeh for the Swedish market, making it easier for consumers to make a more sustainable choice without having to give up Asian cuisine.
Exhibition of the design project
As a part of the dissertation, the design project was a part of an exhibition alongside other amazing design works. For this we had to describe and visualize the core of our projects. For this project, I focused on showing and pinpoint Sörbönas main products - the tofu and tempeh and the star of the show; lupinus angustifolius (sötlupin).
